Hmong homes are communal spaces built intentionally for gatherings and the sharing of life. It’s where marriages, traditional ceremonies like spirit callings, and events like receiving an honorary new name happen. It is a place that holds the mundane and the sacred.
Homes are an important part of family life for the Hmong people. In the 50 years since their arrival, many have become homeowners and have established farms for crops and a variety of other produce. For the Hmong people, home really is where the heart is.
